Do What Failures Are Unwilling to Do

Major success is uncommon so you must learn to act uncommonly. Failures are satisfied with pleasing methods (i.e. taking the easy path) and then settling for whatever results they get. Successful people are influenced by pleasing results and are willing to take the difficult path to get what they desire. The easy choice when not in the mood to do something is to not do that specific thing. The more deliberate and challenging choice is to act no matter how you feel. This is what the professional does; they put in the work regardless of emotional state. They decide with their mind and their body follows.

For example, are you willing to wake up before the sun rises, even if you don’t feel like it? The easy answer is to say no and claim that you are not a morning person; the easy choice is to stay in bed. In contrast, it takes a specific willingness to get up out of your comfortably warm bed even when you don’t feel like it. The ability to make yourself spark that activation energy to get out of bed is the same type of energy you need to make yourself go to the gym, to make that important call, or to start writing.

Successful people don’t like doing the same things that failures don’t like to do, but the difference is that they still do what needs to be done in order to obtain their objectives. It’s a deliberate choice backed by a burning desire and purpose. What are you wiling to do?

As I’m on my journey to buy my first profitable online business, I was asked by one of my mastermind groups why I wanted to own an online business in the first place.

My answer was “to free up more time so that I can focus on what I’m passionate about.” To me that was a solid answer, but to my group, it wasn’t enough.

They dug a little deeper and asked me exactly what I was passionate about.

Interestingly, I couldn’t give a clear and concise response. I was able to talk specifics about the amount of money I wanted to earn each month, but when it came to my passion and my desired business, my message wasn’t clear.

I was reminded of something we all inherently know: We need to be clear about what we want before we can get it.
If you don’t get clear on what you want now, you’ll end up with something you don’t want later.

In the corporate world, it’s so easy to devote years of effort and work, only to find yourself stuck in a job that doesn’t excite you.

The entrepreneurial world isn’t any different because you can invest years of time and effort into a business you wish you could get away from.

Whether you work a job or own a business, don’t make the mistake of blindly climbing up a ladder, only to reach the top and realize that it was up against the wrong wall the entire time.

To avoid the trap of investing time and energy into a business that is NOT worth owning, you should be able to answer these 3 questions:

1⃣ What are you truly passionate about?
2⃣ What’s really important to you?
3⃣ Why do you want to own a business in the first place?

Really take the time to reflect and think about these questions. Don’t settle for any answers that only touch the surface of the Truth. Dive in head first and keep searching until you grab hold of the answer that breathes life into your soul.

Although I still have much thinking to do before I figure out how I am going to combine my passion and my desired business, I do know that I enjoy creating and sharing these ideas with the people who are ready for it.
